  1. You can bake the cake following the instructions given on the box that came with the cake mix. Now you have to let the cake cool down and come back to room temperature. Preferably do this step beforehand so that you can save time.
  2. Once the cake has completely cooled down, you need to break it into fine crumbs. You can either do this with the help of a food processor or simply use your hands. Please make sure that there are no large cake chunks left since this will essentially interfere with the final recipe. Now place the cake crumbs in a large bowl for mixing.
  3. Now add ½ cup of the frosting to the cake crumbs. You can use your hands for this or do it with a spoon. Mix the frosting till it is fully incorporated into the mixture and it resembles a dough-like consistency. Please keep adding the frosting in case the mixture is dry.
  4. Now use a tablespoon or a small ice cream scoop for this step. Scoop out little portions of the batter and roll them into small circular balls. Please use your hands for this. Make sure each ball is approximately one inch in diameter. Now keep the cake balls on a baking sheet which is lined with wax paper.
  5. Now melt a little bit of candy melts (or chocolate, depending upon your taste preferences) in the microwave. Now dip the tip of each lollipop stick into the melted candy and then insert it only halfway into each cake ball. This step essentially ensures that the stick remains intact and in place instead of becoming wobbly. Once the sticks are inserted, you can keep them in the fridge for at least half an hour. This step ensures that the cake balls are firm.
  6. Take a microwave-proof bowl and melt the candy melts (or choco chips), following the instructions on the package’s instructions. Now mix two tablespoons of vegetable oil to make the coating thin, essentially making it easier to dip the cake pops into.
  7. Now take the cake pops out. Dip each cake pop into the melted coating. Keep turning it to make sure all the surface area is covered in the liquid.
  8. While the coating is still slightly wet, you need to add your decoration. Spread some sprinkles, nuts, or any other favorite decoration you may want to add. Now stick the cake pop into a Styrofoam block or cake pop stand to set the little wonders.
  9. Now repeat this step for all the cake pops.
  10. You need to allow the cake pops to cool down completely. This process will take about half an hour, till it reaches room temperature. Once the coating is set, your Cake Pops are ready to serve to your little guests.
