Amp Up Your Next Dinner Party With These Shot Glass Dessert Recipes

Restaurants have been doing it for a while and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t too! Yes, we’re talking about desserts served in shot glasses. These mini treats are not only visually appealing with their vibrant layers and textures, but they’re also a great way for your guests to practice portion control without overindulging — and they get to taste a little bit of everything. Here are four recipes for shot glass desserts that will get everyone talking at your next party.

1.  Blueberry-Lemon Cheesecake

This no-bake dessert has a smoothie-like texture and taste and takes all of 20 minutes to make.

Ingredients

For the base:

  • 180 gm graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)

For the cheesecake:

  • 453 gm cream cheese
  • 336 gm confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 120 gm whipped cream
  • 165 gm blueberry-lemon jam

For the topping:

  • 120 gm whipped cream

For garnish:

  • Blueberries or sprinkles

Instructions

  1.  In a bowl, mix crumbs and butter. Spoon the mixture into shot glasses to create the base; you’ll need about a tablespoon.
  2.  To create the filling, whisk cream cheese in a mixer. Add confectioner’s sugar, a little at a time, until you arrive at a thick consistency.
  3.  Add almond extract, whipped cream and jam and whisk until smooth and creamy.
  4.  Layer the mixture into the shot glasses.
  5.  Fill a pastry bag with whipped cream and pipe a huge dollop over the cheesecake mixture in the shot glasses.
  6.  Place the shot glasses in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight to set
  7.  Serve with a topping of blueberries or sprinkles.

2. Salted Caramel Eggnog Shooters

This creamy eggnog shot glass dessert recipe is perfect for the holidays. You can serve them with a side of salted crackers that you can use to dip.

Ingredients

  • 236 ml eggnog
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1½ tbsp cornstarch
  • 198 gm salted caramel ice cream
  • 180 gm whipped cream
  • Nutmeg (grated)

Instructions

  1.  In a saucepan, add eggnog, sugar and cornstarch and whisk over medium-high heat until it comes to a bubble.
  2.  As soon as it thickens, transfer it to another bowl. Cover the bowl and let it chill for 15 minutes. Pour the mixture into a piping bag.
  3.  In a separate piping bag, transfer the salted caramel ice cream.
  4.  Pipe a little of the eggnog followed by the ice cream in your shot glasses. Create layers until the eggnog and ice cream are used up.
  5.  Top each shot glass with whipped cream and grated nutmeg.
  6.  Your eggnog shooters are ready.

3. Tiramisu Pudding Shots

Tiramisu is a beloved party favorite and this pudding version requires only 30 minutes to put together.

Ingredients

For the coffee half:

  • 99 gm instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 177 ml milk
  • 28 gm coffee
  • 59 ml coffee liqueur
  • 120 gm whipped cream

For the chocolate half:

  • 99 gm white chocolate pudding mix
  • 236 ml milk
  • 59 ml vodka
  • 120 gm whipped cream

Instructions

  1.  In an electric mixer, combine the chocolate pudding mix, milk, coffee and liqueur until they are mixed well. Gently fold in the whipped cream and set it aside.
  2.  In another bowl, mix the white chocolate pudding mix, milk and vodka. Gently fold whipped cream into the mixture too.
  3.  Pour the pudding mixtures into separate piping bags.
  4.  Pipe the chocolate mixture into shot glasses. Follow this with a layer of the white chocolate mixture. Refrigerate them.
  5.  Before serving, garnish with shaved Cadbury chocolate. You can also add a wafer roll for a fun element.

4. Nutella Oreo Shooters

Oreo and Nutella come together in this explosive, easy-to-make shot glass dessert that will be loved by adults and kids alike.

Ingredients

  • 20 Oreo cookies
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 340 gm cream cheese (softened)
  • 472 gm Nutella
  • 200 gm sugar (powdered)
  • 360 gm whipping cream

Instructions

  1.  Crumble Oreo cookies in a food processor. Reserve 125 gm of the crumbs.
  2.  Add melted butter to the remaining Oreo crumbs and combine well.
  3.  Add 1 tsp of the crumb mixture at the base of each shot glass.
  4.  In a mixer, combine cream cheese and Nutella. Gradually, add powdered sugar to the mix.
  5.  Turn the mixer to a low speed and stir in the whipped cream followed by the reserved Oreo crumbs.
  6.  Pour the mixture into a piping bag and pipe it on the Oreo crumb base. Top this with whatever is left of the whipped cream.
  7.  Sprinkle with additional Oreo crumbs.
  8.  Refrigerate before serving.
