Bob the Builder characters as chocolate desserts and more

Who knew construction could be so much fun? Or perhaps that's unsurprising given how stop motion was used to make Bob the Builder cartoon. The cartoon follows Bob who has his own construction company with three of his machines that are autonomous and can walk and talk and have fun, but get scared too. Joined with Wendy, his BFF, and some other beloved characters including their blue cat, this show was soothing. So we picked the machines and two humans and turned them into desserts!

1. Apple Cake – Bob

The titular protagonist of the show, Bob is a contractor who runs his own construction company with his best friend Wendy, and his trusty machine friends. He runs his office and goes around town about his business and has a little blue cat named Pilchard. Bob is a homely apple cake as he exemplifies the stereotype of the late 1900s to early 2000s handyman. He’s bad with tech and loves doing things by hand and he grew up to be a handyman, something he wanted to be as a kid and that stuck. As for the apple cake, it is also one of the best Fall fruit desserts out there.

2. Blueberry Cheesecake – Lofty

There’s one Lofty in every cartoon out there, who is a scaredy cat and gets spooked quite easily. He’s a blue crane with a dangling hook that helps Bob and his team lift heavy equipment around the yard and other places. For this cowardly blue construction machine, a blueberry cheesecake is perfect. Like the dessert, lofty despite his cowardly nature is sweet and tries his best, not to mention, the cheesecake’s delicate nature is the perfect example of how fragile Lofty can be and how short his moments of bravado last. While a common sight a blueberry cheesecake is one of the fusion sweets with the cheesecake and the coulis prepared separately, like how Lofty and his cowardice despite his goodness are inseparable.

3. Ice Cream Sandwich – Scoop

Scoop is the yellow backhoe digger, who was the first construction machine among five others in Bob’s crew, which kind of makes him the unofficial leader. That also makes him Bob’s unofficial machine kid, he is similar to Bob in mannerisms, he’s a trusty machine and supervises when the humans aren’t around and great at solving problems too. He’s a simple ice cream sandwich because of that. The dessert is simple and yet so comforting and it’s also one of the fusion sweets, using two elements of cookies that sandwich a cold vanilla ice cream in between.

4. Cake Roll – Dizzy

She’s the orange cement mixer with a tilt drum who is always cheerful and perhaps would be one of the nervous older Gen Z, dancing around when nervous. For her rotating drum, she gets the swirling cake roll, which is literally rolled into a log and slice, whose cross section shows a nice swirl. Dizzy is also a Miss-Know-It-All and a tomboy making her fit right in with the other machines. She however is kind and quite caring and joins Rolly in his love for music, but unlike him, she doesn't go sing-a-song, she instead puts on headphones and bops around.

5. Crepe – Roley

A ball of energy, Roley is a green steamroller who loves to literally roll around and make-up songs of his own whenever he deems fit, be it work or having fun. He’s a weirdo who rolls his eyes when excited and adores animals. He met Bob and the team when a friend of his saw them trying to smoothen a freshly laid road in vain and of course, he went all sassy and told them, they needed some rock and roll which was his way of saying they needed him. For this strange green roller, a French crepe is perfect because it's his job to flatten. Why not try this simple crepe recipe in memory of this fun roller?

6. Mud Pie – Muck

mud-pie

He is exactly like his name, acting before thinking and getting into a muck because of that, he also hates taking baths and loves to play around in the dirt. Muck joins the club with Lofty in being afraid of the dark which can be comical to watch. The red machine is based on a dump truck, in reality, nothing like him exists, that does make him an odd one out but he fits right in and is quite friendly and jolly. For Muck, a chocolate mud pie is perfect due to his tendency to love the dirt and getting dirty in it not to mention his impulsive actions.

7. Chocolate Bark – Wendy

She’s Bob’s business partner and friend who helps in running the business, keeping things in order and organized, and seldom does construction work. She does harbor a crush on Bob but despite that doesn’t like asking for help until she gets too overwhelmed in the end. For this Miss Independent girlie, a brittle chocolate bar studded with fruits and nuts is perfect. It cracks under pressure like her when she bites more than she can chew and the sweetness is for her kind nature and her little crush on her partner.
