Chocolate Crepes
Chocolate desserts like the crepe should be your go-to recipes when time is short and you need to whip us something that is tasty and will keep you filled for long. Think of chocolate crepes as the perfect recipe for school tiffin or an evening snack. It does not take much time to cook and your kid will empty the plate without the fuss.
Ingredients:
- 150 gm all-purpose flour
- 30 gm cocoa powder
- 50 gm sugar
- 500 ml milk
- 3 large eggs
- 50 gm melted butter
- 5 gm vanilla extract
- 2 gm salt
Method:
- First, grab a big bowl and throw in the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and just a pinch of salt. Whisk it well—make sure everything’s mixed together nicely.
- In another bowl, mix up the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. You want it smooth, so take your time.
- Now, here’s the trick: slowly add that wet mix into the dry stuff while you whisk. Keep whisking until it’s smooth and has no lumps! The batter should be a little runny. Let it sit for about 30 minutes—that gives it time to settle and makes the crepes better.
- Now, heat up your non-stick pan on medium flame. Put a tiny bit of butter or oil, just enough to coat the surface. When it’s hot, pour in a small amount of batter, maybe about a quarter cup, and swirl the pan quickly so it spreads into a thin layer.
- Let it cook for about a minute or two, until the edges start to lift. Then, carefully flip it over—don’t worry if it’s not perfect—and cook the other side for another 30 seconds or so.
- Once it’s done, stack the crepes on a plate. You can cover them with a towel to keep them warm. Top them with whipped cream, fruits, or even a little chocolate sauce—whatever you like!
Simple Chocolate Cake
A chocolate cake can never fail to soothe your senses or satisfy your chocolate cravings. We have all grown up eating chocolate cakes and now we want to make them, Because eating self made desserts feel extra special.
Ingredients
- 140 gm flour
- 65 gm Cadbury Bournville cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 200 gm sugar
- 120 ml vegetable oil or melted coconut oil
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 180 ml buttermilk or dairy alternative
- 120 ml hot water or brewed coffee
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 175°C. Grease two 8-inch round cake pans and line them with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, vegetable oil or melted coconut oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the buttermilk to the wet ingredients, alternating with the dry ingredients mixture. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Pour in the hot water or brewed coffee and stir until the batter is smooth. The addition of hot liquid enhances the chocolate flavor and moistness of the cake, so don’t cut corners and use room temperature water or cool coffee.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven at 175°C for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in their pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Ingredients:
- 150 gm Cadbury Bournville Dark chocolate
- Fruits of your choice: Apricot (2 or 3), bananas (2), or apple slices (1 large)
Procedure:
- Start by melting the Cadbury Bournville dark chocolate. You can do this using a double boiler or in the microwave. If using the microwave, heat it in 30-second intervals, stirring in between. We don’t want any burnt chocolate here!
- While the chocolate is melting, wash and prepare your fruit. Pat them dry, so that they are not slippery.
- Once the chocolate is melted, dip each piece of fruit into the chocolate, letting any excess drip off. You can go half-dip or fully coat. This is your dessert, customize it however you want.
- Place the chocolate-dipped fruit on a parchment-lined tray. For an extra twist, sprinkle some sea salt, crushed nuts, or shredded coconut on top before the chocolate sets.
- Chill them in the fridge for about 15 minutes until the chocolate hardens. Now you’ve got a stunning dessert that’s as delicious as it is Instagram-worthy!
