Each of us had something packed away in our lunchboxes (chocolate cupcakes, cookies and cheesecakes) that felt extra special. And now, as caretakers ourselves, we have the chance to bring that same joy to our kids.

So, why not make this Children’s Day extra special? Dive into these simple, kid-approved desserts that don’t take much time but will surely bring a big smile to your child’s face. These recipes are quick, fun, and made for sharing—perfect for school parties, a sweet snack at home, or as a small celebration just because.

Confetti Ice Cream Cake

Confetti Ice Cream Cake

Ingredients:

  • 250 gm vanilla cake mix
  • 500 ml vanilla ice cream (softened)
  • 60 gm confetti sprinkles (plus extra for decoration)
  • 200 ml whipped cream

Procedure:

  1. Bake the vanilla cake as per the instructions on the package. Let it cool completely.
  2. Once cooled, slice it horizontally into two even layers.
  3. Spread a thick layer of softened vanilla ice cream over the bottom layer. Place the top layer over it. Remember you're making a sandwich.
  4. Cover the entire cake with whipped cream, smoothing it all around. Sprinkle confetti on top for a fun, colorful finish.
  5. Freeze for at least two hours to set. Slice and enjoy this cool, vibrant treat!

Chocolate Monster Cake Pops

Ingredients:

  • 200 gm chocolate cake (crumbled)
  • 50 gm chocolate frosting
  • 100 gm candy melts (assorted colors)
  • 20 candy eyes
  • 20 lollipop sticks
  • Assorted sprinkles

Procedure:

  1. Combine the crumbled chocolate cake and frosting in a bowl until you get a dough-like consistency.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls and insert a lollipop stick into each one. Freeze for 15-20 minutes until firm.
  3. Melt the candy melts as per package instructions, then dip each cake ball, covering it completely.
  4. Quickly add candy eyes and sprinkles to give each one a cute monster look.
  5. Let the cake pops set for about 10 minutes. They’re ready for kids to enjoy!

Rainbow Marshmallow Cloud Cake

Ingredients:

  • 250 gm vanilla cake mix
  • Food coloring (pink, blue, green, yellow)
  • 200 gm marshmallow fluff
  • 200 ml whipped cream
  • 50 gm mini marshmallows

Procedure:

  1. Divide the vanilla cake batter into four bowls. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl to create pastel shades.
  2. Pour each colored batter into a separate baking tin and bake. Once the layers are cool, spread marshmallow fluff between each layer to stack them.
  3. Cover the entire cake with whipped cream, smoothing it out, then sprinkle mini marshmallows on top for a fluffy “cloud” effect. Serve.

Mini Cookie Dough Cupcakes

Ingredients:

  • 250 gm vanilla cupcake mix
  • 50 gm edible cookie dough (chocolate chip)
  • 100 gm chocolate chips
  • 200 ml buttercream frosting
  • 50 gm mini chocolate chips or sprinkles

Procedure:

  1. Prepare the cupcake mix according to instructions and spoon it into mini cupcake liners, filling each halfway.
  2. Drop a small ball of cookie dough into the center of each cupcake before baking. Bake until cupcakes are golden and allow them to cool.
  3. Pipe buttercream frosting onto each cupcake and decorate with mini chocolate chips or sprinkles. Perfect bite-sized treats for Children’s Day!
