You can stick to your diet and preferences and have this eggless dark chocolate cake

When hosting parties, it’s essential to consider all your guests’ dietary needs. By offering eggless options, you ensure that everyone, regardless of their preferences or restrictions, can enjoy a slice of deliciousness. It’s a thoughtful touch that not only shows you care but also elevates your gathering into an inclusive celebration of flavors that everyone can savor.

Ingredients:

For the cake:

  • 140 gm all-purpose flour
  • 65 gm Cadbury dark cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 200 gm sugar
  • 120 ml vegetable oil or melted coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed mixed with 3 tbsp water (as an egg substitute)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 180 ml buttermilk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 120 ml hot water or brewed coffee

For the frosting:

  • 115 gm unsalted butter (softened)
  • 220 gm powdered sugar
  • 65 gm Cadbury cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 30-45 ml milk (or dairy-free alternative)

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 175°C. Grease two 8-inch round cake pans and line them with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, vegetable oil or melted coconut oil, ground flaxseed mixed with water (this replaces the eggs), and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually add the buttermilk to the wet ingredients, alternating with the dry ingredients mixture. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Pour in the hot water or brewed coffee and stir until the batter is smooth. The addition of hot liquid helps to enhance the chocolate flavor and moistness of the cake. So don’t cut corners and add room temperature water or cool coffee.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven at 175°C for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
  • Allow the cakes to cool in their pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, frost the cake with your favorite frosting or serve it plain for a delicious gluten-free treat.
  • Keeping in mind the extra indulgence of the party guests who prefer eggless desserts , complement your dessert spread with delectable treats like a creamy eggless mousse cake. Try these eggless desserts for your green soul.
