Having an air fryer in the kitchen is nothing short of a boon. You can make everything really quickly and without the excessive use of extra oil butter or ghee in any dessert or savoury recipe. It's so versatile that you can create a wide range of recipes including desserts in a more healthier and efficient way. Here are some dessert recipes adapted for the air fryer that you can recreate in your kitchen.
Air Fryer Oat Cookies
Ingredients:
- 85 gm unsalted butter
- 20 gm golden syrup
- ½ tsp vanilla essence
- 140 gm flour
- ½ baking soda
- 100 gm rolled oats
- 100 gm sugar (replace with healthier alternative, if needed)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 50 gm soaked raisins
Instructions:
- Melt butter and syrup in the microwave and mix well.
- Add the rest of the ingredients, including the raisins that you can soak for half an hour in water.
- Add a tablespoon of water to bring the cookie dough together then shape into fifteen balls. Refrigerate them for half an hour.
- To bake, take out about 5-6 balls and flatten them with your palm.
- Line the air fryer’s surface with baking paper and place them about a centimeter apart from each other.
- Cook at 175°C for 15 minutes. Repeat this process with the rest of the dough.
- Let the cookies cool before enjoying them with a cup of coffee.
Air Fryer Bananas
Ingredients:
- 4 ripe bananas
- 65 gm brown sugar
- 2 ½ tbsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Cut the bananas lengthwise so you get long pieces.
- Mix together cinnamon powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Coat every banana piece evenly with this mixture.
- Place into the air fryer at 200 C for about 5 to 6 minutes or until golden brown and caramelised.
- Enjoy these bananas with a dollop of vanilla greek yoghurt and some berries. You can also add them to your oatmeal.
Baked Apples
Ingredients:
- 2 apples
- 3 tbsp chopped walnuts
- 3 tbsp raisins
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- Agave nectar or maple syrup for garnish
Instructions:
- Peel and slice the apples into halves, then scoop out some of the flesh.
- Combine the nuts, spices, and butter in a small bowl, then spoon them into the cavity you’ve just made.
- Place the apples into the air fryer and let them bake for about 10 minutes at 180 C. They should be brown, slightly mushy but still holding their shape.
- Drizzle some sweet syrup like agave nectar or maple syrup and enjoy. You can also have these apples with some flavoured Greek yoghurt.
Air Fryer Zucchini Bread
Ingredients:
- 180 gm shredded zucchini
- 60 gm flour
- 20 gm Cadbury Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 75 gm packed light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 85 gm chopped Cadbury Bournville Rich Cocoa 70% Dark Chocolate
Instructions:
- Grease an air fryer-friendly baking pan with some vegetable oil or melted butter. Set aside.
- Sift all the dry ingredients - cocoa, baking soda, flour, and salt in a bowl.
- Then mix all the wet ingredients until smooth. Add all of the dry ingredients to this, followed by the chopped chocolate.
- Finally, mix in the shredded zucchini. Try to drain as much water as you can from the vegetables so you don’t get a soggy cake.
- Bake in the air fryer for 25 to 30 minutes at 160°C.
