We love a good, easy-to-make dessert for those busy work days when all you have time for is whipping up a quick snack. Here are some great ideas to get you started.

Creating healthy desserts doesn't have to be a complicated process. With just three simple ingredients easily found in most homes, it's possible to whip up satisfying and healthy dishes that also satiate your sweet cravings. Here are some recipes calling for only 3 ingredients to make delicious healthy dessert snacks.

Banana Oat Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup dark chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mash the bananas until they’re a smooth paste.
  • Mix in the rolled oats and the chocolate chips or nuts.
  • Put spoonfuls of the mixture on the baking tray, flattening them into cookies.
  • Bake for approximately 20 minutes, until the cookies are golden brown.
  • Set aside to let them cool and harden. Serve with milk.

Yogurt Strawberries

Ingredients:

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Greek yogurt (plain or flavored)
  • Honey or maple syrup

Instructions:

  • Line a tray with parchment paper.
  • Dip each strawberry into the Greek yogurt, coating it evenly.
  • Place the yogurt-coated strawberries on the parchment paper.
  • Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the strawberries.
  • Freeze them for 2 hours and then serve chilled.

Energy Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dates, pitted
  • 1 cup mixed nuts
  • ½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut

Instructions:

  • In a mixer, blend the dates until they form a sticky paste.
  • Add the nuts to the blender and mix until the mixture becomes coarse and sticky.
  • Then add the shredded coconut and pulse until well combined.
  • Roll the mixture into small, bite-sized balls.
  • Place the balls on a tray lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for about 30 minutes so they become firm. Serve cold.

Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups bananas, mashed
  • ¾ cup coconut condensed milk or plain condensed milk
  • 1½ cups self-rising flour, sifted

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven and grease a baking pan and set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix the bananas and condensed milk. Then gently stir in the flour and mix continuously until fully combined.
  • Transfer the batter to the pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
  • Serve cool, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Healthy Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cup strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions:

  • Add all three ingredients in a blender and mix until there are no chunks of fruit left.
  • Add less milk if you want a thicker ice cream.
  • Freeze for a few hours or serve immediately.

Papaya Mousse

Ingredients:

  • 1 can unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1½ cups fresh papaya, chopped
  • 2 tbsp honey

Instructions:

  • Refrigerate the can of coconut milk overnight before using. This will cause the fat to become cream and separate from the liquid.
  • Scoop out only the cream and put it in a bowl. Whip for a few minutes until it has softened.
  • In a blender, mix the papaya and honey. Add that mixture to the cream and fold it in until properly mixed.
  • Refrigerate for 4-6 hours and serve cold.

Peanut Butter Fudge

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups peanut butter
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup coconut oil

Instructions:

  • In a pan , combine all 3 ingredients and cook on medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • Once everything is well combined, set it aside and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Line a baking dish with parchment paper and pour the mixture into it.
  • Place it in the freezer for 3-4 hours so it becomes firm. Serve cold.

Pistachio Chocolate Bark

Ingredients:

  • 2 packs semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup pistachios, chopped
  • 1½ tsp sea salt

Instructions:

  • Place parchment paper on a baking tray and set it aside.
  • Add the chocolate chips to a glass bowl.
  • Fill a saucepan three-fourth with water and bring it to a boil. Place the glass bowl on top, creating a double boiler. The chocolate should turn into a smooth liquid.
  • Pour the chocolate onto the baking tray and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the pistachios and sea salt on top.
  • Place the tray in the refrigerator for an hour. Break into uneven pieces and serve.

Brownies

Ingredients

  • 3 bananas
  • ½ cup almond or peanut butter
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven. Line a pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a bowl, add the bananas and mash or blend them. Then add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into the lined pan and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Let the brownies cool before serving.
