Here’s a pick of Unique desserts for the characters of Oggy and the cockroaches

The original French version of Oggy and the Cockroaches is indeed a calmer version with zero speech, only chuckles and sounds expressed as a means of communication and expression. But the Hindi dub is an altogether different experience. Whichever version you have seen, it sure is a fun series that pitted three cockroaches against one lazy cat with a bulbous belly who just loves to laze around. We picked some unique desserts for Oggy, his friends, and the cockroaches and had a little fun with them.

1. Oggy – Blueberry Cheesecake

Oggy is one lazy cat, who is sky blue and lives in a huge house with a sprawling lawn that he loves to tend to. Despite his laziness, and his love to lounge around the house or outdoor sunbathing or gardening, he finds to keep the house up and running and also chase after the 3 cockroaches who keep invading his fridge. His wholesome personality finds the perfect pairing in the most revered blueberry desserts of all time – a rich blueberry cheesecake. Its smooth, creamy mouthfeel echoes his easygoing nature, while the occasional blueberry chunks in the sauce represent his moments of frustration with the cockroaches.

2. Joey – Macaron

As the leader of the cockroach trio, Joey is best represented by a purple macaron because he is the brains behind most of the mischief and plans to raid Oggy’s fridge. It's something the other two cockroaches find stupid ending up in all of them getting beaten up by Oggy. Besides that Joey feels like a revolutionary who wants an uprising of cockroaches to take over Oggy’s home, which of course his small and round shape and his dimwit comrades don’t understand. For the ambitious cockroach, such a refined French dessert is perfect because macaron can hardly be replicated and is in a class of its own.

3. Marky – Éclair

Marky, the tallest cockroach, is tactful but also loves lazing around, to represent him let’s pick another of the classic French desserts, an éclair. He is shown to have an addiction to fizzy drinks which makes him all woozy like how an Eclair, almost always comes with a cream filling. Its elongated shape also is perfect to look like Marky’s longish form. He’s also the romantic one among his peers as he’s seen romancing puppets. That’s a typical French being for you even though he has nasty breath and somehow can’t stand the smell of fries.

4. Dee Dee – Banana Pudding

Dee Dee is the plump food-loving and craziest cockroach among the trio, and perhaps that makes him the most dangerous one. He literally eats everything when his hunger levels hit an insane level, having tried to eat Oggy, Jack, and even an elephant on one occasion. For the nutcase among the three cockroaches Dee Dee is one of the classic banana desserts – a banana pudding that uses the metaphor crazy (going bananas) in it.

5. Jack - Orange Cake

Jack might have been shown as Oggy’s older brother in the Hindi dub, but he’s actually his cousin, who is too restless for his own good. He’s the polar opposite of Oggy but he too has his lazy moments, after all, he too is a cat. He angers easily, is impatient, and keeps hatching plans to get rid of the three annoying rodents that live with Oggy. Jack is perfectly embodied by an orange cake, its bright orange color matching Jack’s boundless energy with its sweet and tangy flavor representing his dual nature of being both mischievous and lovable. Despite having main character energy, we stand firm with him being one of the simple, classic, and most beloved orange desserts ever.

6. Bob - Chocolate Cupcake

Bob is the brown bulldog neighbor of Oggy who seems to have an aggressive streak and often gets into fights with Oggy courtesy of the cockroaches. And sometimes it is Jack and Oggy who in their fun end up invading his property and of course what follows is a nice beating. To match his coat, he is one of the simplest chocolate desserts ever – a chocolate frosted cupcake. The rich, dark chocolate flavor in the cupcake as well as its frosting, mirrors Bob’s tough exterior and grumpy demeanor. He seems to find joy when Oggy goofs up and laughs in his face, while it is difficult to draw parallels with that, a chocolate cupcake sure does bring joy to the eater.

7. Olivia – Panna Cotta

Olivia seems to be a similar cat as Oggy, but she’s all white with a bow in her hair. She debuts in the cartoon a bit later and instantly gets Oggy smitten. Olivia is elegant, kind, and simple quite lovely just like the vibe of one of the famed Italian desserts, the panna cotta has. The simplicity of the dessert, its smoothness, and its delicate wobble are akin to Olivia’s good-natured self. Usually having a subtle milky flavor, it is enhanced by a sour berry coulis, typically raspberry or strawberry which reflects her refined tastes and the sheen she seems to have. Looks do matter and a panna cotta though simple has an impeccable form and comes in a trademark block-like shape with tapering sides, much like how Olivia cares for her appearance, a lot.
