Hop on to Reddit, r/winxclub where unfiltered thoughts flow free, and you will see a unanimous consensus, the initial days of the Italian magic series were the best. Not sure how the reboot announced for 2025, with CGI characters will fare, but we do love the 2D fairies and their glittery wings where Bloom came up with the name of her group, made up of her roomies, who became her tribe – Winx. With their fabulous outfits, and dreamy transformations, the teenage fairies learn, go on adventures, fall in love and find their place in the world. So, we decided to find them a place in the magical world of desserts, imagining them as desserts.

1. Lemon Posset – Stella

Stella appears as a haughty princess with airs around her but her bubbly nature makes you instantly like her. She's the fairy of the sun and moon and a light fairy, so a citrusy dessert that is typically served in lemon rinds for the royal. Everyone won't like her, but the ones who do tend to love her, just like you will if you make this dessert, for it is an instant dessert recipe. She is the one who brings Bloom to Alfea and becomes her best friend and roommate and along with the gang, they become inseparable friends who have each other's back.

2. Molten Lava Cake – Bloom

The fairy with the dragon flame needs something deep for herself for she is the centre of attention, given it was her who created the Winx club. As seasons pass, it is revealed that Bloom is no ordinary fairy, she is one of the world's strongest because of the burning dragon flame in her, which makes her a trouble magnet. She's the second-born Princess of Domino, which is revealed eventually and shares a loving relationship with almost everyone around her. The depth of her experiences and well of emotions make her a chocolate lava cake. Look up the best chocolate molten lava cake recipe, as you dig into your cake and re-watch the series for your favourite fairy.

3. Hwajeon – Flora

The gentlest fairy of all the members, Flora is introduced as this grounded plant mommy who has a calming presence. Perhaps being the fairy of nature makes her so maternal and she's how the Enchantix transformation felt to all of us, and Hwajeaon, a Korean rice cake with edible flowers pressed to its surface, suits her the best. Flora is spring and the rice cakes are enjoyed in spring as well, with the local spring blooms adorning the surface. She would adore these cakes and feed them to all her roommates. This rice cake definitely falls under the instant dessert recipe, you can easily recreate it with local edible flowers.

4. Mooncake – Musa

In honour of Musa’s East Asian heritage, we picked a mooncake for her that looks like it was carved for a musician by an expert artist. She's the fairy of music and with that magical voice the mooncake is a perfect fit for it holds years of tradition of eating this moon-shaped sweets during the Chinese Mid-Autumn festival, where other Asian desserts also grace tables. Most mooncakes have intricate engravings on their surface with a sweet filling, that is perfect for the softie that Musa is.

5. Opera Cake – Techna

Techna is the fairy of technology and even though she's one of the central fairies she doesn't get the spotlight often. She is from the planet Zenith, for which she later acts as a guardian. She is known for her cool and is the group’s reliable tactician as well as strategist. So, an intricately layered Opera Cake from France to suit her very organised and level-headed character who gets her magical abilities from machinery and tech. Just like the Opera cake that needs meticulous efforts and an eye for detail to get the layers and the ingredients just right. An artfully crafted cake for a genius fairy who's the group's backbone.

6. Sorbet – Aisha

The fairy of waves and the heir to the throne of her planet Andros, Princess Aisha or Layla, in some versions, needs something similar that emulates water and there are only a handful of them in the world of desserts. So, a crushed ice dessert for this refreshing fairy, the sorbet comes in a variety of flavours. Like Techna, she doesn't get much screen time, and we wish she did. She peaked when Nabu was introduced to the series, and of course, a man will rile up Aisha’s independent streak. But he with his genteel nature wins her back and we see different facets of Princess Layla thanks to him, just like sorbets come in a variety of flavours and is quite refreshing.
