It was the era of magic and different Disney stars took a glitter stick and drew the trademark Mickey Ears logo on the screen. The Suit Life of Zack and Cody (TSLOZAC) was part of the slew of TV shows rolled out in the early 2000s, now it's just the stuff of nostalgia. Something the lot of us at Cadbury really love, because without a community and shared experiences what are we but sad and lonely apes? Let’s imagine them as desserts shall we?
The rebellious of two of the Martin twins, Zack is outgoing and self-centered, often causing trouble for his twin Cody. He fits the profile of a stereotypical handyman like Bob the Builder, but wilder. He’s not studious but quite great at woodworking and also has a steady girlfriend for much of the series. We’re picking strawberries for the twins and Zack gets a strawberry-swirled creamy cheesecake, for his smooth social skills and his tendency to be self-indulgent, exactly how it feels to bite into a strawberry cheesecake.
Although it has been clearly established Zack is the muscle twin because Cody leans towards brains over brawn, Cody might actually be the stronger twin. Using too much gray matter does make him sensitive as well, and more mature than Zack. That’s the definition of nerd but of course, Cody likes to call himself educationally gifted, which automatically makes him that kid who does everyone’s homework. For this cute and sensitive kid, a strawberry shortcake is just perfect.
Perhaps the most loved and humorous character of the show, Mr Moseby is the manager of the hotel and is often seen in a fix, which is why we get to see his sardonic one-liners. The fix he’s in is due to the tomfoolery of the twins who keep running around the hotel. He’s like a doting father figure to London and a stickler for things going his way, especially when it comes to the Tipton Hotel. His connection with London made him a loyalist to Tipton Industries, so an energizing coffee mousse is perfect for this chocolate man.
Of course, the hotel comes with the trademark posh character, and in TSLOZAC, it was London Tipton, who is the daughter of the owner of The Tipton Industries. Like most posh rich girls, she’s snooty and selfish, but surprise surprise, she’s kind and warm towards those close to her. But for the harsh side, perhaps her absent parents are to blame, kind of like Blair with her dad in Gossip Girl, that and being uber-rich. For this posh gal who is always clad in designer wear, the sophisticated French macarons are just perfect.
Working at the Tipton Hotel since she was 15, Maddie is the hotel’s teen candy counter girl and also has side jobs working as a cashier at a fast food chain and also a manager of a daycare. As stressful as her life is, she’s quite caring and sometimes sarcastic when something irritates her. She’s quite smart and an overachiever being the perfect model student, something that extends to her jobs too. For Maddie, the Italian Dessert Tiramisu just fits, for there are no desserts that come quite close to this coffee-soaked creamy indulgence. The little splash of liqueur in the dessert is her resilience against all odds while she maintains steadfast friendships without being resentful of her friends.
Mom of the twins who stood out because of her spiky black short hair, she is one of the staff of the Tipton Hotel. Because of this, the single mom of two shares accommodation at the hotel with her twin sons who grow up in the hotel and get into all kinds of trouble. She’s the lounge singer and a recurring minor character but despite her hardships and a bitter divorce, she remains friendly. A brownie suits her quite well and is a doting and patient mom to her twins even though other parts of her life are messy.
The assistant night manager at the Tipton, Esteban never seemed to have shed his bellboy aura. He's that trademark character, made during the era where Spanish stereotypes were being recycled. Following the trend, Esteban fits the bill, he barely speaks any English and has a pet chicken who is his best friend. He gets along quite well with the twins due to his child-like personality. For this cute man, the Spanish Flan is perfect which fits right in among other desserts and also the series like a worn glove.
