NYE is approaching, and no party is complete without some absolutely stunning, over-the-top desserts. Follow these recipes for some fantastic dishes.

We’re almost in December, and if you're planning to throw a NYE party, we got you covered as far as the desserts go. You have a host of other things to worry about—from themes to dress codes, and from guest lists to games and other entertainment. We’re assuming you’ve also got some bubbly champagne and yummy finger foods on your list of must haves. But while you prep everything else, desserts tend to take a backseat. However, one way to go about it is to bake a cake, desserts can also be a cause for variety. You can have several different, bite sized desserts and here, we’ve got all the options you need.

Champagne Cake Pops

Cake pops are small, bite sized balls of cake. Essentially, you make a cake batter the ideal way, but shape it into balls and put sticks in it to hold. This strawberry flavored cake will have a fun pink light pink color and the bubbly champagne infused in it adds a slight sweetness and flavor as well. The slight dusting of gold powder on top makes it perfect for your party and gets you in the spirit of NYE.

Ingredients

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix
  • 1 ¼ cups champagne
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 16 ounces white cake frosting

For the chocolate shell:

  • 24 ounces white chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ½ tsp gold pearl dust
  • ½ tsp lemon extract

Pomegranate Champagne Sorbet

This sorbet expertly brings together champagne that’s bubbly and flavorful and a pomegranate juice that’s refreshing and will lend it a bright red color. It can be made with an ice cream maker, and serving a dessert that’s chilled is a great idea, especially if you're in a warmer place. Top the sorbet with whipped cream and fresh pomegranate before serving, so that each bite has a crunch and a delectable, creamy softness to it.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups champagne
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1¾ cups pomegranate juice
  • Whipped cream, optional
  • Fresh pomegranate, optional

Gold Macarons

That’s right. We’re suggesting you get your hands on some edible gold dust and literally cover every visible bit of your macarons with it. Macarons are a fancy, sophisticated dessert anyway, and adding a gold coating to it makes it over the top enough that NYE is one of the few occasions you can get away with it. So lean into the festive spirit and vigor with these gold macarons, and watch as your guests’ fingers get the gold dust on them as they eat them.

Ingredients

For the macaron shells:

  • 100 gm egg whites
  • 100 gm white granulated sugar
  • 105 gm almond flour
  • 105 gm powdered sugar
  • A few drops of gold gel food coloring

For the Baileys ganache:

  • 250 gm white chocolate
  • 38 gm Baileys Irish cream
  • 32 gm heavy cream

For the decoration:

  • Gold luster dust

Disco Truffles

Truffles are great, aren't they? Little balls packed with flavor and bite sized enough that you don't feel any guilt while eating them. Now imagine double the trouble—a brownie truffle, with a smaller chocolate truffle stuffed inside it, and the whole thing topped with edible glitter. If your mouth is watering you aren’t alone. We at CDC firmly believe that when it comes to chocolate, there’s nothing like too much and it's never too over the top. So go big with these small balls and surprise your guests in the most delicious way possible.

Ingredients:

  • 7 oz semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • ⅔ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp light corn syrup
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 pan brownies, baked and cooled
  • ½ cup chocolate frosting
  • 28 oz chocolate candy coating melts
  • gold disco dust, for decoration
  • silver disco dust, for decoration

Glittery Donuts

When it comes to glitter on NYE, more is more and maximalism is in. So here's another dessert with glitter on top, because between the dim lights and loud music, you want your desserts to shine, not get lost. Simply make donuts the normal way, top it with a white vanilla glaze, and sprinkle a generous amount of glitter on top.

Ingredients:

For the donuts:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅓ cup dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup plain full-fat yogurt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract

For the vanilla glaze:

  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 3 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

For the decoration:
