DIY Candied Almond Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 450 grams of raw almonds
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet.
  • On the prepared baking sheet, equally distribute the raw almonds.
  • Whisk the egg white in a large mixing bowl until it is foamy and has soft peaks.
  • Fold the vanilla extract into the foamy egg-white mixture gently.
  • Add the raw almonds to the egg white mixture, coating them thoroughly.
  • Combine the granulated sugar, sea salt, and ground cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  • Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the almonds and toss until evenly covered.
  • On the prepared baking sheet, spread the almonds in a single layer.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the almonds are golden brown, stirring periodically to ensure even coating.
  • Allow the candied almonds on the baking sheet to cool fully. They will harden further as they cool.
  • When the almonds have cooled, separate any that have become stuck together.
  • In an airtight jar, store the candied almonds. They can be eaten as a snack, mixed into salads, or used as a dessert topping.

Storage Instructions:

Simply put them in an airtight container to preserve their freshness. At room temperature, they will stay fresh for up to a week and 2 weeks in a refrigerator. If you want long-term storage, then store the candied almonds in the freezer; they will last up to 2 months.
