A children’s book based on a real-life Christopher Robin and his toy bear Edward, later renamed Winnie the Pooh, a quirky name that was a combination of an actual bear’s name plus a swan. As tales go, this children’s book and its adapted cartoon show are a perfect example of how different personalities, with their vices, can be the best of friends. The latest theory in the block is that each character stands for some kind of mental illness which makes the characters even more intriguing. So, as is the trend here, we picked the characters living in the Hundred Acre Woods and turned them into desserts.

1. Honey Cake – Winnie the Pooh

Pooh, as Christopher Robin likes to call him, is a yellow stuffed bear sporting a red shirt that he never takes off. Perhaps it's his bumbling nature and innocent nature that gets Piglet so anxious all the time. He’s also quite slow because of his limited intelligence but is quite kind and friendly. But introduce a honey pot to him and he loses all sense of time and his surroundings. For this beloved bear, a honey cake is simply perfection. While Pooh is associated with an eating disorder, he might also have ADHD and OCD given his obsession with honey.

2. Strawberry Roulade – Piglet

Piglet looks like an overgrown but tender onion shoot or a pink sapling of sorts who is constantly overthinking and stressing out all the time. This little piglet stuffed toy lives with his best friend Winnie the Bear who is addicted to his pot of honey. Perhaps due to his size, he’s also quite timid and insecure all the time, all of which points to the hallmark of an anxiety disorder, says the internet. For this little character, a roulade, rich with strawberry creme between its rolls is simply perfect. Imagine the anxiety of the roulade maker when the cake cracks when rolling, if that isn’t fitting for this stuffed animal, we don't know what is.

3. Dark Chocolate Cake – Eeyore

This stuffed toy is inspired by the “Pin the tail on the donkey” game as Eeyore, the stuffed toy with a gray coat also has a tail that is pinned on him. There are episodes where his lost tail causes a good deal of distress to him, but he doesn’t go all ballistic, possibly because he suffers from depression. Eeyore, unlike the other stuffed toys, is stuffed with sawdust possibly a reason why he’s depicted as a gloomy character. No matter the occasion, Eeyore is always cynical, the cup-half-empty kind of character, and bitter like one of those dark chocolate desserts. We picked the perfect dark chocolate cake, to match his persona.

4. Carrot Cupcake – Tigger

Tigers are always shown as mighty, ferocious, or sassy characters in most stories, Tigger breaks that stereotype for he’s a lovable and hyper-energetic stuffed tiger, who bounces around on his tail, using it like a pogo stick. He loves bothering the meticulous, organized, and neat Rabbit all the time and loves hanging out with his friends. He’s the epitome of ADHD if it were a character, as per the internet, and his friends love him for exactly who he is, despite Tigger riding the last nerve of patience for some of them. For this fun orange character, a carrot cupcake is quite fitting.

5. Napoleon Pastry – Rabbit

An utter perfectionist, Rabbit is the polar opposite of the bouncy Tigger, who messes up his carefully tended garden in excitement quite often. He possibly has OCD and spends his time cleaning, reading, and gardening when not having adventures with Winnie and his friends. For the perfectionist Rabbit, the French Napoleon pastry is sheer perfection. The artfully created and arranged layers are just like Rabbit’s approach toward life and the way he likes things.

6. Caramel bread pudding – Kanga and Roo

A bread pudding is already comforting and homely on its own, but with caramel sauce adorning it, it pushes up the sweetness a notch and is also a perfect pairing like the mother-and-son duo of Kanga and Roo. Kanga is gentle and a doting mom who is seen tending to the treehouse which houses her and her son Roo. The latter joins Pooh and his friends on many adventures and can be quite spirited and playful. The mom and son duo are closer to Tigger and Roo absolutely adores the bouncy tiger.

7. Dundee Cake – Owl

Although Owl’s character is based on the saying, “as wise as an owl”, it’s best to take Owl’s wisdom with a pinch of salt, because it is neither wise nor good advice. Typically he should've been the mysterious wizard-like character who comes and goes at will, but not this Owl. He loves to burst into long soliloquies when around the other stuffed toys much to their boredom. For this creature, who is not too wise, a Dundee cake is fitting with its iconic almond arrangement almost looking like the speckles on his feathers.
