1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
¾ cup brown sugar (for a deeper flavor)
2 eggs
½ cup strong brewed coffee (cooled)
½ cup sour cream (or yogurt)
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup melted Bournville dark chocolate
Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda together. In another bowl, mix butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, coffee, and sour cream.
Combine wet and dry mixes followed by melted Bournville dark chocolate.
Pour batter into greased pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. Once baked, let cool before slicing and serve.
