1 cup basmati rice
4 cups full-fat milk
½ cup sugar
1 tsp cardamom powder
2 tbsp chopped nuts (optional)
1 tbsp ghee
Cook rice in milk over low heat
stirring often
until it becomes creamy and tender.
When the kheer thickens
add sugar and cardamom powder and continue to simmer.
Add the nuts and ghee
if using.
Serve the kheer hot or cold.
