250 ml milk (any type)
30 g dark chocolate (chopped)
1-2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1-2 teaspoons sugar or sweetener (to taste)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Whipped cream or marshmallows for topping (optional)
Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until it is warm but not boiling.
Add the sugar, cocoa powder, and chopped dark chocolate and whisk until smooth and completely melted.
If using, stir in vanilla extract and keep heating for one more minute.
If preferred, garnish the hot chocolate with marshmallows or whipped cream after pouring it into glasses.
