1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup ghee (melted)
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup condensed milk
Oil for frying
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Saffron strands (optional)
Chopped nuts for garnish
To make a smooth batter, combine flour, ghee, and water. Bring water and sugar to a boil until syrupy. Add the saffron and cardamom powder.
In a deep pan, heat the oil. To make a disk, pour the batter in a narrow stream. Fry until crisp and golden.
Dip the fried ghevar quickly in heated sugar syrup. Take out and put on a platter.
Top the ghevar with a drizzle of condensed milk and a sprinkle of chopped almonds.
