1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup khoya (milk solids)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Cloves (lavang) for sealing
Oil for frying
1 cup sugar (for syrup)
1/2 cup water (for syrup)
To make a soft dough
knead flour and water together;
leave aside.
Combine the khoya
sugar
and cardamom in a pan;
heat until it thickens
and then set aside.
The dough should be then rolled out
cut into little circles
stuffed
folded
and sealed with a clove.
Deep-fry till crisp and brown
After bringing sugar and water to a gentle boil
prepare the sugar syrup and dip the fried pastries into it.
Before serving
let them soak for a few minutes.
