1 loaf of French bread
2 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 large eggs
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Cinnamon sugar
Condensed milk
Cut stale bread into thick slices. Whisk milk, sugar, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until sugar is dissolved.
Take a different bowl and whisk eggs until they are smooth and fully beaten.
Dip the bread slices into the milk mixture and let it soak for a few seconds. Then dip it into beaten eggs until both sides are coated.
Heat a large skillet and add vegetable oil. Fry the soaked bread slices in batches until they are golden brown and crispy.
Once fried, coat the bread slices with cinnamon sugar on both sides and serve with a drizzle of condensed milk or honey.
