2 cups raw peanuts
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons butter
Pinch of salt
Toast peanuts for 5-7 minutes until they are golden.
Combine sugar and water and heat on medium heat until sugar dissolves. Let sugar cook while stirring occasionally until it turns a deep amber color.
Quickly stir in roasted peanuts and make sure they are evenly coated.
Add baking soda and stir well. The mixture will bubble up and become frothy.
Add butter and salt for flavor and quickly pour it into a greased baking sheet. Spread out with a spatula.
Allow the mixture to cool completely and break into pieces for serving.
