1/2 cup sama rice
4 cups milk
1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar
2-3 tablespoons ghee
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
8-10 almonds and cashews
8-10 raisins
1 tablespoon chironji
Wash sama rice thoroughly and soak in water for 30 minutes.
Drain and keep aside.
Heat ghee in a pan and add soaked rice.
Roast for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
Pour milk and bring to a boil.
Once it starts boiling
reduce the heat and simmer.
Stir occasionally.
Add sugar and stir well.
Cook for 5-7 minutes to dissolve sugar well and thicken the kheer.
Add cardamom powder for flavor.
Include chopped nuts and dry fruits and serve warm.
