2½ cups all-purpose flour
2½ tsp baking powder
1 cup unsalted butter
1½ cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup whole milk
1½ cups fresh mixed berries
1½ cups heavy whipping cream
½ cup powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans.
Whisk together flour and baking powder in a bowl. Cream butter and sugar in another bowl and add eggs one by one followed by vanilla and berries.
Add dry ingredients and milk to the mixture one by one and mix. Divide batter evenly into cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Layer cake with prepared whipped cream and mixed berries. Frost the cake with leftover whipped cream and top it with handful of berries.
Garnish the cake with remaining berries and chill before serving.
