Method:
- First, you need to boil the falooda noodles according to the instructions on the package. Usually, you will need to boil water with oil and then cook the noodles for about three to five minutes. Afterward, you will have to let it drain and cool with cold water.
- You have to take a huge bowl, and in it, mix the rose syrup and falooda sherbet, and stir it well.
- Then, you have to add milk to the mixture and stir it gently.
- After that, you have to mix the cooked falooda noodles in the bowl with the syrup mixture so that they are all well coated.
- Next, you have to pour the vanilla ice cream into individual serving bowls or glasses. This will be the bottom layer of your falooda.
- You need to use equal portions of noodle mixture in every bowl and place it on top of the ice cream.
- Then, you have to sprinkle chopped pistachios, chopped almonds and dried rose petals over the noodles.
- You need to follow it up with jelly cubes and chopped fresh fruit.
- To each serving, you need to add a dollop of whipped cream.
- You have to garnish with some chopped nuts, dried fruit, fresh fruit, chocolate shavings or chips, and coconut flakes.
- For some extra flair, you can go with edible flowers, sprinkles, or colorful candy pieces.
- Just before serving, you can top it all with falooda cherry, and your dessert is ready to serve.
If you want, you can replace the vanilla ice cream with Kulfi ice cream for an authentic Indian taste. A good tip would be to add some Rabri on top of the noodles for added creaminess, and deliciousness. If you are making this dessert for your Indian family, you can also use Jalebi or Gulab jamun for added texture and sweetness. You can also sprinkle a bit of cardamom powder on the whipped cream for an authentic scent. While assembling, it is advisable that you use fancy glass cutlery as that will greatly enhance the look of the dish.
You are advised to prepare this falooda just before serving because this dessert tends to soak the noodles and invariably they get soggy. You can store the noodles in the refrigerator, in an airtight container for two days before assembling the dish. During the summer season, you can try flavorings like strawberry or mango on the dish. This will greatly enhance the freshness of the dessert.
Falooda is one dessert that will overwhelm your senses with its rich flavors and textures. Whoever has had the chance to dig into this delectable, has indeed witnessed a super unique culinary experience. It can be made for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries or also as a summer treat because of its cool and creamy ingredients.
