Chocolate pancake recipes for breakfast, From Easy, Moderate and Fanciful Ones

How do you like the chocolate in your pancakes – little, moderate, or an overload? We have three different chocolate pancake recipes ranging from easy to pro level, well, as pro as pancakes can get. If you are looking for a plain pancake recipe or its story, here’s one for you.

1. Simple Chocolate Pancake (Box Mix)

It does not get easier than this and all you need is a storebought pancake mix and a few more ingredients. Turn it even more chocolatier by adding chocolate chips to the perfect. It is the perfect pancake recipe for kids, even the most fussiest ones because who even hates chocolate?

Ingredients

  • 200 gm pancake mix
  • 30 gm Cadbury Cocoa Powder
  • 25 gm sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 300 ml water

Instructions

  1. Extract the pancake mix in a big bowl, and add all the other ingredients excluding the water – cocoa powder, sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix it well.
  2. Pour the water into the bowl and mix until lump-free.
  3. Heat a nonstick pan over medium flame.
  4. Pour ¼ cup of pancake batter onto the nonstick pan and cook it, until the pancake starts to bubble on the sides and surface. This should take a little over a minute.
  5. Flip it over when it bubbles and let the same happen for the other side too.
  6. Remove the pancake from the pan and put on a serving plate.
  7. Repeat with the batter until all used up and form a stack of pancakes on your plate.
  8. Serve with whipped cream, honey, fresh fruit, or just powdered sugar.

2. Basic Chocolate Pancakes

This one is without the box mix, made from scratch and minus any adornments. It’s as simple as it gets, cooked on a skillet or nonstick pan. If you can substitute the butter with healthy oil and powdered sugar with a healthier sweetener, you have yourself a healthy chocolate pancake recipe.

Ingredients

  • 100 gm plain flour
  • 30 gm Cadbury Cocoa Powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 ml milk
  • 50 gm powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 30 gm butter, melted

Instructions

  1. To a big bowl add the flour cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Mix and set aside.
  2. Whisk the eggs and milk in another bowl. Pour half of this into the flour bowl and while adding keep whisking. Pour the remaining egg milk liquid and whisk until you have a smooth and lump-free batter.
  3. Cover the batter with a cloth or plastic film for 30 minutes to rest.
  4. Heat a nonstick pan over medium flame, butter it or heat oil, and while that happens use a whisk to loosen up the batter for easy scooping.
  5. Use a ladle or measure ¼ cup of batter and pour on the pan. Cook until it starts to bubble and flip them over then.
  6. Repeat with the rest of the batter, greasing the pan each time before ladling the pancake batter onto it.
  7. Stack on a serving plate and serve.

3. Chocolate Overdose Pancakes

This pancake recipe makes enough for 6 people assuming each person eats one pancake sandwich each. This chocolate pancake recipe is fashioned after the Japanese Dorayaki, substituting the filling with the rich chocolate ganache. Here are more ideas on how you can upgrade your pancakes further.

Ingredients

  • 150 gm all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 75 gm whole wheat flour (atta)
  • 45 gm Cadbury Cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 4 tbsp light butter, melted
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 375 ml skim milk
  • 45 gm Cadbury Bournville dark chocolate

Chocolate Ganache:

  • 120 gm semisweet chocolate chips
  • 75 ml skim milk (or almond milk)

Instructions

  1. Take a big bowl, add the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt and give it a mix. Pour the butter, vanilla, and milk. Whisk until combined, then, fold in the chocolate chips.
  2. Over medium flame, heat a greased, nonstick pan. Pour ¼ cup of the batter into the pan and cook until the pancake starts bubbling. Flip and cook until the other side also bubbles. Repeat with the remaining batter until used up. Stack the pancakes on a plate.
  3. To make the ganache, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or use the double-boiler method over a stovetop. Keep the heat low and stir frequently with a fork, to speed up the process.
  4. Add the milk next and whisk to make it smooth. Your ganache is ready.
  5. To serve, sandwich pancakes with a generous amount of the ganache. Then dust each pancake sandwich with a little powdered sugar. You can also drizzle with the chocolate ganache.
