With their bright, vibrant colors, inner chocolatey goodness and fun gastronomic experience, Cadbury Gems are a childhood favorite for many. Not only do they look like precious little gems you can eat, they also taste entirely amazing—a sweet burst of chocolate in the mouth. You can't stop after popping just one into your mouth. You need to have another. While absolutely delightful when eaten on their own, these small chocolate bites also work as a brilliant ingredient when baking desserts. Here are a few recipes featuring everyone’s beloved Cadbury Gems.
Gems Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup Cadbury Gems
Directions:
- Preheat the oven and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, and until all the sugar has melted.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the mixture of dry ingredients to the bowl with wet ingredients, mixing until well combined. Add one spoonful at a time and mix after every addition.
- Gently fold in the Cadbury Gems.
- Place tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each. You can shape them into rough rounds when you place them on the tray for a cleaner shape.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a plate.
- Serve warm with milk.
Gems Milkshake
Ingredients:
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup whipped cream
- ¼ cup Cadbury Gems, plus more for garnish
- Chocolate syrup for drizzling
- Whipped cream, for topping
Directions:
- In a blender, mix the vanilla ice cream, milk, and Cadbury Gems until it’s a smooth and creamy mixture.
- Pour the milkshake into glasses. Top each glass with a dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with additional Cadbury Gems and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
- Add a straw to each glass and serve chilled.
Gems Parfait
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 cup granola
- ½ cup mixed berries like strawberries, blueberries and raspberries
- ¼ cup Cadbury Gems
Directions:
- In a serving glass or jar, layer Greek yogurt at the bottom.
- Then add a layer of granola and on top of that, sprinkle a handful of mixed berries.
- Then add a layer of Cadbury Gems.
- Repeat the layers until the glass or jar is filled.
- Top with a generous sprinkle of Cadbury Gems. Serve cold.
Gems Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Cadbury Gems
Directions:
- Preheat the oven and grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Stir well until the sugar has dissolved completely.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, one spoon at a time, mixing until well combined.
- Fold in the Cadbury Gems.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out almost clean.
- Let the brownies cool before cutting them into squares. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream.
Gems Cheesecake
Ingredients:
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 230 gm cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup whipped cream
- Cadbury Gems for topping
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers and melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of a lined mini muffin tin to create the crust.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Fold in the whipped cream.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture onto the graham cracker crust in the muffin tin.
- Press 2-3 Cadbury Gems into each cheesecake bite. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
