Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe mangoes, pureed
  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method:

  • In a double boiler or a microwave, melt dark chocolate. Stir in between with a clean spatula. Once done, let it cool slightly.
  • Next, in a bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Make sure to give a gap of 30-40 seconds; otherwise, the cream might start to melt due to the heat of the whisker.
  • Divide the whipped cream into two portions. Fold one portion into the melted chocolate until smooth. Fold the second portion into the mango puree.
  • Start layering the chocolate mousse and mango mousse in glasses. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Garnish with fresh mango slices or chocolate shavings as per your choice. Enjoy!

7 Tips to Make the Perfect Mango Chocolate Mousse for Eid

Use High-Quality Ingredients

When it comes to making simple desserts, the quality of your ingredients speaks a lot about the quality and final flavors. Choose ripe, sweet mangoes that are fresh and juicy. Again, a good-quality dark chocolate with a high cocoa percentage for a rich and smooth mousse.

Adjust the Sweetness

Adjust the Sweetness

Depending on how sweet your mangoes are, you might need to tweak the sugar in the recipe. If the mangoes are particularly sweet, you can adjust the chocolate layering in the mousse mixture to avoid it becoming overly sweet and vice versa, if the mangoes aren’t too sweet, alter the chocolate layering proportion.

No-Bake Dessert Done Right

Since this is a no-bake recipe, the key is to give it enough time to set in the fridge. Mousse always tastes better when properly chilled. Refrigerating the mousse for at least 2 hours ensures it firms up nicely while retaining its creamy consistency.

Right Equipment

Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer can make whipping the cream a breeze. Also, glass serving cups or bowls give the dessert an elegant look, displaying the work of art with its beautiful layers of mango and chocolate.

Garnishing for Extra Appeal

A good presentation is half the game. Top your mousse with fresh mango chunks, chocolate shavings, or even a sprig of mint. These small touches not only make the dessert more attractive but also add a fresh and balanced taste.

Serving Suggestions

This mousse is best served chilled. To enhance the experience, serve it with a light biscuit on the side or pair it with a fresh fruit salad for a tropical vibe. It’s a perfect way to end a rich Eid meal, offering a mix of light and decadent notes.

Storing Leftovers

If you have leftovers, store the mousse covered in the fridge for up to 2 days. Since the mousse contains fresh fruit, it’s best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Avoid freezing as it can alter the consistency of the mousse.
