Looking for easy one-bowl recipes for sweets and cakes? We have the perfect set of recipes for you from a simple chocolate cake and banana bread. All you’ll need is a mixing bowl and the baking tray or skillet plus a spoon and spatula to mix and move around the ingredients or the batter. All the recipes are customizable and you can swap nuts with dry fruits and vice versa or milk chocolate for dark chocolate.

1. One bowl Chocolate cake

Ingredients:

  • 250 gm all-purpose flour
  • 400 gm sugar
  • 60 gm Cadbury Cocoa Powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs, room temperature, lightly beaten
  • 235 ml vegetable oil
  • 235 ml buttermilk
  • 235 ml hot water
  • Frosting of your choice
  • Colored sprinkles, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a 13x9-inch baking pan. Set aside.
  2. Take a big bowl, and add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Whisk to mix.
  3. Add the eggs, oil, and buttermilk and stir while adding them. Pour water into the bowl and stir again until mixed.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and cool completely in the pan, placed on a wire rack.
  7. Make your frosting or buy a readymade one and frost cake. You can decorate with sprinkles.

2. One Bowl Skillet Cookie

Ingredients:

  • 85 gm unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 180 gm packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 120 gm all-purpose flour
  • 30 gm Cadbury Cocoa Powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 280 gm semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease an ovenproof 10-inch skillet, if it's not nonstick, and set aside.
  2. Take a big bowl, and mix butter and sugar using a spoon. Add egg and vanilla and mix.
  3. Then sift the dry ingredients into the bowl – flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Mix until you have a uniform mixture. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Transfer the dough to the greased or nonstick skillet. Then smoothen the top.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes. The center will be set and the cookie will pull away from the sides.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Then transfer it to a wire rack for it to cool. Slice and enjoy your skillet cookie.

3. One Bowl Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 230 gm unsalted butter
  • 260 gm semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips, divided
  • 300 gm granulated sugar
  • 150 gm brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 155 gm all-purpose flour
  • 35 gm Cadbury Cocoa Powder

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. In a big microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and 175 grams of chocolate chips. Do this in 30 second intervals stirring in between. Set aside for a couple of minutes for the heat to dissipate.
  3. Whisk the chocolate, add the granulated and brown sugars, vanilla, and salt. Whisk to combine. Add the eggs next and whisk to mix.
  4. Take a bowl and sift flour and cocoa powder and add to the chocolate bowl, mixing until just incorporated. Fold the remaining chocolate chips with a spatula.
  5. Take a nine-inch square baking pan apply a little butter and stick parchment paper on it. Pour the batter and smoothen the top with the spatula.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with little to no moist crumbs on it.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it completely cool before slicing.

4. One Bowl Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 455 gm mashed banana (5 medium bananas)
  • 100 ml vegetable oil
  • 200 gm brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 120 gm all-purpose flour
  • 115 gm wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 60 gm walnuts or dry fruits, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a 9-inch loaf baking pan, stick a parchment paper into it. Set aside.
  2. Take a big bowl, and mix the mashed banana, oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until evenly mixed.
  3. Sift the flours, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon into the bowl and mix using a whisk or electric mixer if you have one. Then fold in the chopped walnuts into the banana mixture. Scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl and mix again to thoroughly combine.
  4. Pour the batter into the loaf pan.
  5. Mix the sugar with the cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle it over the batter.
  6. Bake for 60-75 minutes, until the bread sets on the top. Poke with a skewer or knife and check if it comes clean or with a few moist crumbs. Its done if that’s the case.
  7. In case of browning, cover the top of the bread with an aluminium foil.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool it in the pan for 15 minutes.

9. Pull out the bread using the parchment paper and turn it out to a wire rack to cool off.
