The best kind of villain is the one with whom you can sympathize, especially if you watched them as a kid and admire them as an adult. There is also the kind that no matter what, you will hate them from the depths of your being, with no sob story associated with them. Although Disney has been making amends lately, remember the Cruella movie and all the fashion stuff? We handpicked some of the most iconic Disney villains ever made and guess what? In a parallel world of desserts, all of them exist as a sweet treat, in the same universe. 

Black Forest Cake – Cruella de Vil

The evilness is in her name and this gangly fashionista of a woman was after the lives of the 101 Dalmations whose spotty fur she would use to make garments. Animal hate makes everyone hate her tenfold, and that makes her an iconic Disney villain. The choice of dessert was an easy one for her, one of the most beautiful chocolate desserts out there – the black forest cake, it was sitting right there, begging to be picked. Cruella is obsessed with the black spots on the Dalmatian’s white fur, her hair is also white and half black not to mention her fur coat and dress.  

Flan – Ursula

Who can forget the Squid-tailed Ursula, rising up to form a sleek black dress, from The Little Mermaid with her intimidating form and Drag Queen makeup? If there was one phrase to explain the extent of her villainry, it would be a professional hater cum mischief monger. She took away Ariel’s voice, by manipulating her consent, in exchange for swapping her tail for legs. It was good fun for her, with an underlying sinister motive to make Prince Eric not recognize Ariel and for Ariel to not be able to express anything. Why is she a Flan? Her trajectory is quite straightforward like her end, a scorned villain who wanted power and revenge. 

Alfajores – Yzma

You might recall her as the Ostrich-like villain from The Emperor's New Groove, or even better the meme – “Pull the lever, Kronk!” followed by a rapidly fading “wrong lever!” as Yzma disappears into oblivion. She is a sorceress and the former advisor to Kuzko, the emperor. That ignited her ire and her desire to kill Kuzko and become the empress with the help of her simpleton assistant Kronk and her barrel of potions. Sticking to the Peruvian setting of the movie, she’s an Alfajores, a sandwich cookie, among the caramel desserts, with a delicious and dark dulce de leche filling. The coconut flakes coating the cookie is akin to her frilly attire. 

Stroopwafel – Sher Khan

Ever seen a sassy and charming tiger with a hypnotizing serpent as a sidekick, you have, if you’ve read or watched The Jungle Book. Sher Khan is poised and after Mowgli’s life, the protagonist, who was found and raised by wolves. Quite an underrated villain, Sher Khan does unintentional comedy with his facial expressions and reactions. To represent this villainous tiger, a Stroopwafel with its muted crunch when broken or bitten into is perfect. Like his beautiful orange coat, two discs of waffle are kept in place with a delicious and a beautiful colored caramel sauce. 

Chocolate Orange Mousse – Zafar

Consider Zafar as one of the most sinful and divine dark chocolate desserts, a dark chocolate orange mousse whose bitter undertones of chocolate are balanced by the sweetness of the orange. This is exactly how Jafar, the royal advisor to Sultan Hamed in Aladdin is. He masks his disdain for the ruler quite craftily and plans to have the Kingdom of Agrabah all for himself and also Princess Jasmine, as his bride. Jafar pales in comparison to the other villains in this aspect being quite straightforward in his ambition, even though it is an evil one. 

Neenish Tart – Scar

Scar is the treacherous lion from The Lion King, named after the scar on his face. He embodies the Neenish Tart's dual icing perfectly, because like the dessert’s contrasting black and white icing, Scar's outward charm masks his dark intentions. His manipulative nature and hunger for power mirror the tart’s simple yet complex flavor profile. Just as the Neenish Tart's sweet filling hides beneath a deceptive exterior, Scar's familial ties, despite a sad origin story, conceal his ruthless ambition to usurp the throne, making him a villain as multifaceted as this classic dessert.

Panna Cotta – Hades

Hades is the smooth-talking god of the underworld from Hercules and despite being the God of the Underworld, the simple Panna Cotta is perfect for him. For, this Italian dessert’s silky texture and cool demeanor reflect Hades’ suave personality and icy world; remember the cool blue flame he has for hair? A Panna Cotta is delicately balanced like Hades maintains a facade of congeniality while plotting to overthrow Olympus. Both the Panna Cotta and Hades appear harmless at first glance but pack a surprising punch, making this underworld god a deliciously deceptive villain.
